Hey! No Peeking!

How to share a moment together before the ceremony without seeing each other!

As much as I love doing the First Sight Photo, I know and respect that it's not for everyone.   But, there's just something about that excitement between a bride and groom being near each other before the ceremony that I LOVE to capture.  To capture this excitement, including those who don't want to see each other until the ceremony, I've found a fun way to capture them together without seeing each other.

I put the bride and groom either around the corner from each other, on different levels of the stairs, or right next to each other with their eyes closed.  It's a fun and romantic way to share just a little moment together, say "I Love You", get you recentered on what the day is all about while hodling on to your dream of seeing each at the ceremony if you choose.  Below are a few examples of how I've done this, and I absolutely love the moment...

SARAH AND STEVEN...  We were really lucky to have a great balcony & staircase in their church to do this shot. At first we started out with them hiding on the stairs and Sarah was so excited she started fanning herself... It couldn't have been more perfect...

And then to add to the fun, I had Steven sneak up the stairs with his eyes closed (and yes, I helped him so he wouldn't trip), and he took her hand.  They kept their eyes closed this whole time!

And still with their eyes closed, Steven kissed her hand...  One of my all time favorite moments now.  The two of them were so excited for the ceremony to start, and just loved sharing this little moment together - all with their eyes closed...

LESLEY AND CORY...  While we did end up doing a First Sight Photo after this shot in another location, this around the corner shot was too much fun to pass up.  The anticipation it created, and the banter between them, was priceless!

TRESSA AND DWAINE...  We had originally planned to do a First Sight Photo, but plans change as they often do with weddings.  Still wanting to share a moment together we did a fun around the corner shot.

Again, a lovely moment to share together, take a moment to focus on each other, and remember why you're going through all the chaos of wedding planning.  I love to see how this little moments will really calm people down, and get them more excited about what's to come, rather than nervous.

So, whether you want to do a First Sight Photo, or wait until the ceremony to see each other - you can still enjoy a quite moment together before the ceremony.  Either way, it adds such a wonderful moment to your day...
