Full Service Photographer! :)

As many of my brides will tell you, when I photograph a wedding, I don't just stand on the side like a wallflower.  I do whatever I can to  help make a wedding go smoothly, and most importantly, to keep the bride and groom smiling and focusing on each other.  I joke with my brides that I'm a "Full Service Photographer".

I've help set up decorations... I've helped write ceremonies...

On the big day I've helped smooth out fights between family, I've driven the bride and groom to the locations when the original transport didn't work out.  I often help tie up the bustle, and at almost every wedding, I end up fixing a torn bustle when someone steps on the gown.  I've helped the bride into her gown when the bridesmaids were stuck in traffic, and I've done an "emergency hem" on the groom's tux pants.  If it needs to be done, I do it.

Unfortunately, since I'm the one with the camera, it doesn't usually occur to anyone to snap a photo of this.  Because, let's face it, it's usually a funny memory!  At Tara and John's wedding this weekend I got to drive the bride and groom around, help figure out her bustle, and help her into her garter.  One of the bridesmaids snapped a photo of me helping the bride get her garter on as everyone else was getting ready before the limos showed up.  It may not be the most flattering image of me, but it's definitely one of my favorites now, and will forver be on my wall.  It's a great memory, and that's what being a photographer is all about.  I take a personal and heartfelt investment with all of my couples, and love being part of their day... and of course, always being behind the camera means you make really goofy faces when someone points the camera at you!
